My Turkish Delight

This silky smooth delight was inspired by a morning on the sundrenched patio at Sofra Bakery and Cafe in Cambridge, MA.   After a bit of online research and some experimentation I ended up with the following.   Drink and enjoy.

Put everything in your blender in the following order and blend until smooth.

1.5 cups water
2-3 cups baby spinach
2 medjool dates
2 stalks of celery
1/2 a large cucumber
1 granny smith apple
2 tbs of protein powder (I used hemp for this one)
1/2  lemon, peeled and no seeds
1/2 to 1 cup labneh (sub fav greek yogurt if you don’t have labneh)
Pinch of sea salt to taste



– A pinch of ground cumin to taste (go easy)
– 1/2 tsp of fennel seed
– Top with a garnish of fresh mint
– Use the salt on the rim of your glass instead of in the smoothie

    Made your Turkish Delight this morning for breakfast. Didn’t have spinach so used some kale. It was really delicious and made for an energized happy morning. Thanks for recipe ideas .
